Although her sculptures and wall-based works remain abstract, their appendages, membranes, and structural elements evoke a sense of embodiment and lifelikeness. In Untitled (Large Egg Skeleton), Lee continues this investigation through the classical form of the bust. Resembling skulls, the sculptures feature molded concrete surfaces that recall bone, while twisting around mechanical elements such as rotational bearings and computer wires. By bringing together raw industrial machinery and bone-like concrete forms, Lee transforms the traditional bust into an unsettling meditation on the fragile boundary between bodily vulnerability and technological existence.
Lee debuted this sculpture at Institut d’art contemporain, Villeurbanne/Rhône-Alpes for her 2026 exhibition with Pipilotti Rist.
