‘Ancestral Beginnings, Sessile Beings’ is Jennifer Tee’s debut solo exhibition in New York. It showcases multiple series of works such as hand-knit floor pieces, ceramics, pineapple cloth tapestries and Jennifer’s ‘Tampan Tulips’ series which she is best known for. On the occasion of the show’s opening reception, poet Lara Mimosa Montes is invited to activate Jennifer’s floorpiece ‘Crystalline floorpiece/ Sanguine Sea’. The reading performance is part of the artist’s curated eco-stacks poetry reading.
‘Jennifer Tee: Ancestral Beginnings, Sessile Beings’ is on view from 15 February to 16 March 2024, at Tina Kim Gallery in New York. More information here, and read our interview with Jennifer Tee here.
