Art Basel Hong Kong’s Vision for a New Generation

MutualArt

Alan Lo is one of Hong Kong’s most influential collectors and cultural figures – co-founder of the Yenn and Alan Lo Foundation, chair of Para Site, and the creative force behind Duddell’s, the landmark space where art and hospitality have coexisted since 2013. We sat down with him during Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 to talk about how collecting becomes something larger, what the new generation gets right, and why he has never been more excited about Asia.

You are at Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 right now. What is the one booth or project that has genuinely stopped you in your tracks this week – and is there an artist you are watching closely?

We are supporters of transnational artistic practices so naturally we are drawn to galleries with programmes that include Asian diasporic artists. Tina Kim Gallery is one of the best booths at the fair. Her roster spans from historic figures like Pacita Abad to contemporaries Maia Ruth Lee and Mire Lee.
