The work is part of a larger body of sculptures in which everyday objects, often removed or borrowed from their original contexts, are temporarily withheld from use, rendering their absence activated in a new context of a gallery space.Rooted in a deep engagement with material and time, Pérez Córdova’s practice explores how objects can carry traces of prior lives while functioning as quiet records of contemporary experience. By incorporating items like SIM cards, jewelry, and contact lenses into traditional sculptural materials such as bronze, glass, or porcelain, she stages subtle interruptions that draw attention to the relational, durational, and contingent aspects of daily life.
