This sculpture comes from the Tania Pérez Córdova's Contour series, consisting of cast bronze outlines of windows and doorways. Tania marks the outlines of these passageways into the sand then pours molten bronze into the grooves, which then solidifies into these final forms. Representing actual windows and doorways from her personal memories (of her home and other spaces she frequented), these wall-mounted sculptures enable the viewer to relive her experiences, retracing the steps of another person’s life. The title A View to Keep an Eye On prompts the viewer to envision the eye-catching scenery that once stood beyond this window frame, a view that someone else once observed.
