Trained as sculptor, clay, cement, and slip are the cornerstones of Lee's practice. Combining industrial building materials, Lee forms works that appear visceral, bodily, and sensual. In this series Lee chose day-to-day objects that "carry" in their everyday utility as the works' molds, resulting in works are ambiguous, often seemingly split-open, raw, and bleak. Presented in the context of "Carriers", the works recall Lee's notion of the carrier as an object or a being that carries or transmits another — such as digestive organs, a building, or even a mother.Exhibitions
